How counselling can help

How counselling can help

Anxiety is a normal human response that has become stuck on high alert. In our sessions we’ll look at what sets it off, what keeps it going and what helps.

Together we work on practical skills you can use day to day: calming your body, noticing anxious thoughts and responding to them differently, and taking small steps towards the things you’ve been avoiding.

What to expect

What sessions look like

Sessions are relaxed and go at your pace. You don’t need to have the right words. We start with what’s happening for you now and build from there.

If anxiety feels overwhelming right now, Beyond Blue (1300 22 4636) offers free support 24 hours a day, by phone or online chat. If you’re in crisis or having thoughts of suicide, call Lifeline on 13 11 14, or 000 in an emergency.
