How counselling can help
Trauma counselling starts with safety. We go at your pace, and you’re always in control of what you share and when.
Together we work on understanding how past experiences affect you now, building ways to calm your body and mind, and gradually making sense of what happened so it has less hold on your life. This includes complex trauma, which develops from repeated or ongoing experiences.
What to expect
What sessions look like
You won’t be pushed to tell your story before you’re ready. Many people spend the first sessions building trust and coping skills.
If you are unsafe right now, call 000. 1800RESPECT (1800 737 732) offers 24-hour support for sexual assault, domestic and family violence. The Blue Knot Helpline (1300 657 380) supports adult survivors of childhood trauma.
