How counselling can help

How counselling can help

Anger often sits on top of other things such as stress, hurt, anxiety, exhaustion or past experiences. We’ll look at what’s underneath, what sets you off and the early warning signs in your body and thoughts.

Then we work on practical skills: calming down in the moment, saying what you need, and handling conflict without things escalating.

What to expect

What sessions look like

Sessions are respectful and non-shaming. Adults and teens are welcome. If anger is affecting your relationship, couples counselling may also help.

If there is violence or abuse at home, please contact 1800RESPECT (1800 737 732) or the Men’s Referral Service (1300 766 491). Anger management counselling is not a family violence program. In an emergency, call 000.
