How counselling can help

How counselling can help

Depression can make it hard to see a way out. Talking with someone outside your situation can help you make sense of what you’re feeling and what might be contributing to it, such as stress, loss, relationship difficulties or big life changes.

We’ll work together on small, realistic steps: rebuilding routines, reconnecting with things that matter to you, and finding kinder ways of talking to yourself.

What to expect

What sessions look like

There’s no pressure to have it all figured out. Some sessions are about talking things through, others about trying something new between sessions. If you’re also seeing a GP or another health professional, counselling can work alongside their care.

If you’re having thoughts of suicide or self-harm, please call 000 in an emergency, Lifeline on 13 11 14 or the Suicide Call Back Service on 1300 659 467 (both 24 hours).
