Rebates

Private health insurance

Some private health funds offer rebates for counselling with an ACA Registered Counsellor under extras cover. I’m a Registered Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (Proficient level).

Before booking, call your fund and ask whether your extras cover includes counselling with an ACA Registered Counsellor, and how much you can claim per session.

Medicare

Is counselling covered by Medicare?

Medicare rebates under a Mental Health Treatment Plan generally apply to sessions with psychologists, mental health social workers and occupational therapists, not counsellors.

Many people choose counselling because there is no referral, waitlist or session limit. If you need Medicare-rebated sessions, your GP can talk with you about your options.

Good to know

Payment, cancellations and cost

Payment

Payment is made at the time of your session. Payment details are confirmed when you book.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let me know as early as possible so the time can be offered to someone else.

If cost is a barrier

Please don’t let cost stop you from reaching out. Get in touch and we can talk about what’s possible.
